There is a sense of urgency in the boardroom to address data as an opportunity, as well as a challenge. The importance of data has evolved well beyond a compliance concern. Data is foundational to addressing legacy information technology challenges, adopting new technologies, optimizing business processes, and pursuing new business. Directors need to be informed and engaged to meet their oversight responsibilities.
